On Tuesday, we covered a story from Italy that made it clear that José Mourinho had turned down the chance to take over at West Ham United.
The Hammers find themselves in a precarious position this season, fighting against relegation with teams they would have beaten in the two previous seasons, but they have kept David Moyes in the managerial job to date.
Whether that is still the case at the end of the season remains to be seen, but West Ham certainly did try to replace him, which is reiterated once again on Wednesday, as La Roma 24 have an article on Mourinho and his situation at AS Roma.
While it’s known West Ham approached the Portuguese manager, and that he rejected them, the details of the contract on offer had never filtered.
Well, the website rectify that, claiming that the London club had put forward a three-year deal worth around €10m/year, which was rejected almost three weeks ago.
That’s quite the package, and certainly an enticing one, but it seems Mourinho wasn’t interested in entering a relegation battle as he currently tries to qualify for the Champions League in Italy
