Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is in talks to sign Anderlecht owned player Trezeguet to replace Premier League linked Garry Rodrigues, reports Takvim.
The player’s actual name is Mahmoud Hassan but he uses Trezeguet and has been known as that throughout his career.
Earlier this week, we covered reports from the Turkish press which stated West Ham United have made a €12m offer to sign Rodrigues, which was reportedly rejected by Galatasaray as the club value him around €18m.
Takvim said despite the rejection of West Ham’s offer, Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is preparing for life without the Cape Verde international, and has identified Kasımpasa’s loan player Trezeguet as the man to replace Rodrigues.
West Ham’s offer has been the spur to act quickly, with further interest from Premier League clubs going back to last summer. With West Ham’s bid not being a million miles away from what Galatasaray want, there’s a reasonable chance of a deal being negotiated between now and the summer.
Trezeguet plays on the opposite flank to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in the Egypt national team so the Turkish giants may want to get in before the World Cup, because some good performances would see interest grow.
