West Ham are the latest Premier League club being repeatedly linked with a move for Andre Gomes.

Before the Hammers it’s been mainly Arsenal and Tottenham, but those two have dropped away a little in recent days.

Barcelona are keen to see the back of Gomes and it’s probably best for the player that he gets a fresh start. Whilst former club Valencia have been interested in a loan, Barca are looking more to the Premier League as they feel it gives them the best chance of a good financial deal.

That’s not necessarily related to getting money now. A permanent transfer had been preferred but with time running it’s thought a loan to England could help bring in money next summer.

Valencia newspaper Super Deporte have it slightly differently, they believe a West Ham offer has been knocked back because it’s not yet enough to please Barcelona.

Super Deporte claim Barca only want a permanent transfer, which has caused issues for Valencia.

This could be a case of Barca telling Valencia they only want a loan, whereas it’d be different for English clubs.

Pressure is building on the potential transfer, with West Ham’s window, and that of other Premier League clubs, closing on Thursday.
