West Ham and Newcastle ‘bewitched’ by in-form striker – 11 goals and 7 assists this season

Over the course of the January transfer window, both Newcastle United and West Ham United were looking for a new striker.

The Magpies and the Hammers were often linked with the same players, as well, with the likes of Duván Zapata springing to mind.

While Eddie Howe did manage to sign Chris Wood from Burnley, David Moyes had to make do with, yet again, no one coming in, meaning this summer will be incredibly important in London.

The club will once again need to sign a striker, which appears to be the case every year, and Amine Gouiri is one name that is now making an appearance.

The OGC Nice forward has been in fine form under Christophe Galtier this year, scoring 11 goals and assisting another seven in 28 appearances in all competitions, which has caught the eye of a few clubs.

Milan are reportedly one of those, according to Calciomercato.it, but they aren’t the only ones, with the website stating Paris Saint-Germain, West Ham and Newcastle have also been ‘bewitched’ by the striker.

A name to keep an eye on during the second half of the season, especially with both Howe and Moyes likely to target Ligue 1 once more if history is anything to go by.
