Jovane Cabral has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks. Leeds United were thought to be keen, then Fulham joined the running, and the Premier League new-boys were soon accompanied by West Ham.

The 22-year-old right winger has a contract with Sporting lasting until June 2023, and if the Lisbon club are to sanction his sale this summer they’re looking for a minimum of €20m.

Should West Ham be serious then they need to hurry, with other clubs also hovering to swoop. Sunday’s edition of Record states Hertha Berlin are now also keen, but, more worryingly, there’s bigger clubs from both England and Germany who are taking an interest in the player’s situation.

Those bigger clubs would have an easier time convincing Jovane Cabral to leave Sporting in this window, able to offer a better sporting project than West Ham and the others.

So if the Hammers want to get ahead of that possibility, they need to move now.
