West Ham United’s Pablo Fornals has been suggested as an option or Barcelona in the winter market.
Gavi suffered a serious knee injury while with Spain and is set to be spend a long spell on the sidelines.
This has seen the Catalan club look for his replacement and Cadena Ser suggest the West Ham player could be one of the options for them in January.
The 27-year-old has been restricted to a substitute’s role under David Moyes this season as he has made four starts and only one of them came in the league.
His deal is until 2024 and the report says Barca could negotiate a cheap deal to take him away from the Hammers in the next window, but Cadena Ser journalist Bruno Alemany isn’t convinced about this option.
“…he has played Barca-style football for the Spanish team, although now at West Ham he plays something totally different,” he said.
On Fornals, Cadena Ser’s Manolo Romero explains: “He is a technically good player, but I don’t think they are Gavi’s characteristics.”
Barca football coordinator Bojan Krkić has dismissed a potential approach for the West Ham midfielder.
“I don’t see him as having enough quality for Barca,” Krkić added.
It’s worth noting Cadena Ser are sharing their views on the possibility of Fornals joining Barcelona rather than there being a genuine interest from them in signing him.
