Last month, Russian journalist Artur Petrosyan reported West Ham United are in the mix for Spartak Moscow’s Alex Král.
The Russian side invested around €12m in signing the defensive midfielder, and Petrosyan further stated the Hammers will have to pay a fee around €18m to take the 22-year-old away from Spartak Moscow.
The Czech international left Slavia Prague for the Russian side in September 2019, and during his time at his former club, he played alongside Tomáš Souček. Král continues to play together with the Hammers midfielder for the national team.
Gól interviewed Souček and asked about the recent reports linking his compatriot to the English club.
Responding to the Král rumours, he said: “The communication from coaches at West Ham is very good. They ask me about the boys from the Czech national team, they ask about the players in Slavia. I exchange a few names that I think would be interesting to West Ham.”
Moyes’ side signed Souček from Slavia Prague in January, initially on a loan deal, and the transfer was made permanent in the summer. In the last window, West Ham also took Vladimír Coufal from Slavia.
“I’m really glad Cuf [Coufal] got on. In fact, right from the first match. He had the same path as me: two days after he arrived. We won an important match against Leicester, Cuf did well, he showed quality,” Souček explained.
“He plays regularly, a high standard is confirmed in every match. He built a strong position quickly. I’m glad everything works out for him.
“I approved of his arrival. In England, he confirms what I thought of him when he played at Slavia.”
