West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez is ‘the chosen one’ for River Plate, who very much believe there is a deal to be done with him.
That’s according to Soy del Millo, who cover the player today and say he has already received an offer to move to the Argentine club.
They explain that thoughts at River Plate are turning to the next transfer window, with the West Ham midfielder very much a target for them.
He left the club in 2015 after struggling to appear under Marcelo Gallardo and has been on a tour since then, playing in Mexico, Spain and now England with West Ham.
Rodríguez finds himself out of the picture at the London Stadium, though, something which has affected his international status and now has him considering his future.
River Plate wanted a move in January, but West Ham blocked it at that point in time, plus Rodríguez wanted to work under Graham Potter.
However, his situation hasn’t improved, and it seems that he will on his way in the summer, something River Plate would like to make that happen. Rodríguez acknowledged their offer and listened to it in January and far from rejecting it, expressed a desire to return in future.
That future could be closer than previously thought as River would like for him to play in the Club World Cup and need a midfielder too.
The West Ham man also sees it as a great opportunity to return to his former club and all of those things have now made him the ‘chosen one’ for this summer.
