West Ham United are one of the clubs in the race for Atletico Mineiro fullback Guilherme Arana, according to reports from Brazil.
Journalist Jorge Nicola learned that the Hammers are among the Premier League sides who made contact ahead of a potential summer move.
His report makes it clear there’s no bid made yet, as West Ham only made Arana’s staff aware of their interest and got to know the conditions of a potential deal.
Standing out for Atletico lately, the left-back is currently in Brazil’s international squad, fighting for a spot in the World Cup this year.
The reason why Jorge Nicola found out the approaches from Premier League club was a tweet made by Atletico Mineiro insider Fred Augusto.
He claimed that the Galo will receive an offer of around €19m for Arana this summer, and the club who’d been monitoring the player is from the Premier League.
According to Nicola, besides the Hammers, Wolverhampton Wanderers also made an approach for the player as well.
