Lazio president Claudio Lotito has got something of a headache with the Keita Baldé Diao situation. The player only has a year of contract left, and Lazio therefore want to sell, but he’s determined to stay in Italy.
Earlier this month Lotito made it clear there’d been several acceptable offers, including from West Ham, but they didn’t match Keita’s wishes: “Many bids have come on his account, now it is up to him to decide what to do, I’m waiting. Which offers? West Ham is public, then there are others from abroad, all responding to our requests. Inter, Juve? No, neither of them have come up with a proposal.”
Southampton and AS Monaco are interested in the player.Southampton’s geography would be a problem in their pursuit of tKeita, just as West Ham have found out for themselves. Therefore, it may be a surprise Southampton have even edged forward with interest.
It’s even more difficult now for Southampton and West Ham after Juventus moved forward with their interest, and Inter Milan are expected to do similar.
The only English hope is all Italian options turning to nothing and Keita deciding to broaden his transfer horizons.
