Morgan Sanson and a move to the Premier League is like the crappier football version of the Ross and Rachel will-they-won’t-they.

The Marseille midfielder has been linked with a move to England since his Montpellier days, but every time he seems close to actually transferring, it never goes through.

West Ham have often been an option for him, as have Aston Villa, and it appears neither have forgotten about him.

Over the weekend, we covered a claim from TF1’s Julien Maynard that the Villains were ‘preparing to make an offer’ for Sanson after following him for ‘several months’.

We’re still waiting for that, but we’ve got an update from Téléfoot Chaîne’s Johnny Séverin, who explained ‘talks are underway with the player’s entourage’, with an offer from Villa ‘coming soon’.

That was on Saturday, but his update on Sunday also involves West Ham, with the editor in chief revealing the Hammers ‘had interest’ in Sanson, but Aston Villa are the ‘only club’ to have entered negotiations.

As for David Moyes’s side, he adds they are ‘lying in ambush in case the transfer fails to make an offer this summer’.

One to keep an eye on, for sure.
