The agent of Argentine striker Lucas Pratto has confirmed that an English club remains interested in the player.
Pratto, who has recently been linked to West Ham, is likely to leave Atlético-MG this month due to interest from several sides, including the Brazilian champions Palmeiras.
But according to his representative Gustavo Goni, the strongest links have been arriving from Europe. Speaking to Radio Rosario in Argentina (via UOL), the agent said: “There are interested [clubs] from three countries: England, Italy and Spain. But no concrete offers”.
But he didn’t want to reveal the name of the clubs: “I can’t speak because it’s only approaches, there’s nothing concrete. I don’t want to create false expectations.”
After Simone Zaza’s departure from the Hammers was confirmed, it’s now Jonathan Calleri who’s said to be very close to a move out of the London club, so the addition of a new striker would make sense.
With 19 goals scored in 2016, Pratto couldn’t repeat the mark from the previous year (22), but still managed to keep good form. The player was signed from Velez Sarsfield in 2014 for only €4m, and Atletico say they would only sell him now for an offer that was impossible to say no to.
