West Ham United are ‘likely’ to sign Wilfried Gnonto this month as David Moyes looks to bolster his attacking options.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says his club are ‘expecting’ the Italian to move to the London Stadium at some point and are already targeting his replacement.

West Ham’s forward line is in need of new options this month, with Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen both currently injured, Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings not really part of Moyes’ plans and Said Benrahma linked with a move away,

The Hammers could therefore do with another option and Tavolieri reports they are now targeting the Italy international, who can play across the front three.

He’s been linked with a move away from Elland Road since the summer transfer window, when Everton pushed hard to get him but couldn’t get a deal over the line.

He even went on strike to try and force through the move, such was his desire to return to the Premier League, but it never came off and he remained where he was.

He’s only featured in 29% of the available minutes this season, though, and it seems West Ham are now keen to move for him.

A deal to take him to the London Stadium is seen as ‘likely’ and his club have already lined up a replacement in Burnley’s Manuel Benson, such is the confidence the 20-year-old will be on his way.

Tavolieri makes no mention of the deal West Ham would be doing, or indeed the figure they may be paying, just that a deal is seen as probable in Leeds.
