AC Milan need to sell players during the summer transfer window. The club are in financial difficulty, having overstretched themselves last summer.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports in their Saturday edition that Milan need to make a €50m profit on transfers this summer, and with the transfer window already slipping away they need to do it quickly.
One of the players who seems very much for sale is Suso, formerly of Liverpool. There’s been several reports in Italy this week of the Spaniard being offered to clubs, and La Repubblica reckon West Ham is one of those.
But the Hammers have currently turned down the chance to sign Suso for €38m, preferring instead to go for Felipe Anderson of Lazio. That adds to Milan’s woes, but €38m does seem on the high side for Suso, especially for a club who need to sell.
Last season his level was repeatedly talked up in Italy but, in comparison to his actual performances, it looked like an effort to build his value.
With West Ham spending big this summer, it’s no surprise Milan tried their luck.
