This Tuesday, we’ve covered a story from Tutto Mercato Web saying West Ham United are keeping an eye on the Italian league, as the club would be interested in a left-back and a midfielder.

And it seems there’s more to come, because as covered by Calcio Mercato today, TV show Sportmediaset have claimed that Hammers officials were at the San Siro last night.

It’s said that the West Ham scouts were interested in the SPAL defender Francesco Vicari, who was a starter in the club’s 2-0 defeat against Milan.

Newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport gave the defender a 5.5 rating after the game, saying he shouldn’t be blamed for the loss, but wasn’t very secure either.

The 23-year-old signed for SPAL last summer, and after a great campaign achieving promotion in Serie B, he keeps being a starter for the club in the first division this season.

With his contract expiring in 2019, the Italian side could find themselves in a fragile position next summer in case West Ham go for him. But he will need to convince he’s worth some money first.
