West Ham continue to close in on the signing of Nikola Milenkovic, although whilst the Italian media reports the deal is very close to being agreed, it’s not finalised yet.

Corriere Fiorentino report that West Ham’s offer of €15m is €3m short of the €18m Fiorentina are asking for, so there needs to be something to bridge the distance for the deal to be completed.

Saturday saw a meeting between the Serie A club and Milenkovic’s agent, the very experienced Fali Ramadani. They seem confident the clubs will meet somewhere in the middle, stating negotiations are ‘very advanced’.

Corriere dello Sport are just as confident, perhaps even more so, and say ‘he will leave for West Ham’. However, their figures are slightly different, with the newspaper saying Fiorentina wanted €20m originally, with the €15m from the Hammers remaining the same.

Milenkovic is ‘about to leave’ the Tuscany club, and it’s thought that bonuses could be included in the deal to make everyone happy.

West Ham probably shouldn’t try the bonus structure they offered to Sporting for William Carvalho, which caused a strangely entertaining Portuguese drama some years ago.
