West Ham and Valencia have a lot in common at the moment. Both clubs are one place above the relegation zone and both managers, Slaven Bilic and Cesare Prandelli, are under increasing pressure.
Both clubs have also had something of a haphazard approach to transfers in recent times, and for Valencia that could well continue. Spanish newspaper AS really hype up a Simone Zaza deal in their Tuesday edition.
It’s given a full page and the West Ham forward is said to have received a telephone call to ask him if he’d like to join Valencia in January. AS say Zaza didn’t say no and is receptive to the potential winter transfer.
Valencia are looking for anything to help them and it’s hoped that with Prandelli in place, the Spanish club could prove a better home for Zaza than Bilic’s West Ham.
If it happened, it may well work out, nothing can be ruled out. But it looks like another example of poor decision making.
Zaza’s West Ham career has been woeful so far, the ever changing clause to make his loan from Juventus permanent should probably be sidestepped as far as possible.
Valencia are in a relegation battle and looking for players who will produce immediately.
Is Zaza really their potential hero?
