Despite signing both Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer from Stade Rennais and Paris Saint-Germain respectively, West Ham United are still at work trying to bolster their defence.
With neither Angelo Ogbonna nor Craig Dawson getting any younger, there will be a need to add some more depth in the Hammers’ squad at some point, and Evan Ndicka could be the right man for that.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who claim both West Ham and Sevilla are ‘interested’ in the 23-year-old, whose contract at Eintracht Frankfurt expires at the end of the season.
This makes him an appealing target for a number of clubs, yet the defender stayed in Germany over the summer, but him being there next season seems unlikely, with so many after him.
Starting with Sevilla, it’s said they’ve made him a priority for the next transfer window, and the player could be bought for a reduced fee of ‘less than €15m’ in January if that were to be put in front of the Bundesliga side.
As for West Ham, ‘the objective would be to get a free transfer for next season’.
Perhaps it might be wiser for David Moyes and co. to tie this one up early if they can, depending on the finances of course, as it seems there could be quite a battle for the 23-year-old going forward.
