West Ham United have maintained their interest in Jakub Kiwior even after they failed to sign the Spezia star in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli are in the mix for the defender, but the Premier League side seem to be the ‘most determined’ team to sign him.

That’s according to MilanLive.it, who state that West Ham have started contacts with the Italian club and ‘intend to reach an agreement’ with them to secure the centre-back’s services.

It’s further explained David Moyes’ side have already presented the ‘first offer’ of €15m to the Serie A side. This figure is short of the €20m fee demanded by Spezia for the Poland international.

Earlier claims suggested Spezia would prefer to retain the defender until the end of this season amid plans from West Ham and other clubs to acquire him in the next window.

MilanLive.it relay this, but state that Spezia would evaluate proposals they will receive and will also hear the 22-year-old’s opinion on the potential transfer. Kiwior is currently with the national team at the World Cup, and he dreams of a big move.

The report explains the Pole could be tempted to change clubs in the winter market. It remains to be seen whether this will materialise in January or if he has to wait until next summer.
