On July 9th, Italy’s TMW reported West Ham had made an approach to sign Franco Vazquez from Sevilla.
It was claimed there was confidence a deal could be done for the Hammers.
That very quickly landed in Spain, where Sevilla’s local sport newspaper, Estadio Deportivo, reported sources at the La Liga had made it known Vazquez could leave for a ‘good offer’, with no explanation of what would be considered such.
Thursday’s edition of Marca then claimed Sevilla have received an ‘official proposal’ from West Ham. Negotiations for the Argentina playmaker were said to be ‘open’, but still there was no asking price put on a potential transfer.
On Friday it’s Mundo Deportivo with their own slant on the situation, and now we finally have a price. West Ham are once again presented as interested and it’s stated the Premier League club have ‘maintained contacts’ over the signing.
The answer has been to tell the Hammers that Vazquez is valued at €30m, there’s no claim on what the response was.
The 29 year old made 44 appearances for Sevilla last season, playing mainly as an attacking midfielder. He scored 5 goals and made 7 assists during that time.
