West Ham United are looking at Anderlecht’s Mario Stroeykens for the summer window.
That’s according to La Dernière Heure, who cover West Ham interest and Anderlecht’s plans for the 20-year-old.
The attacking midfielder climbed through the ranks of the Belgian club’s academy. His rise saw him get promoted to the senior team in January 2021, at 16 years of age.
Stroeykens started to feature regularly since the 2022/23 season and scored four goals and registered six assists from 37 games this season. He has missed 20 games due to multiple injuries between December and start of this month.
This hasn’t stopped the Belgium U21 international from being ‘highly sought after’ in the market. The report claims he’s attracting interest from England, France and Germany.
West Ham and Marseille are named as his suitors, with both clubs making contact, and the report makes no mention if it’s with Anderlecht, his camp or both.
They state the two clubs are at an initial contact stage and haven’t made concrete bids so far.
Stroeykens’ contract is until 2026 and the Jupiler Pro League club want to extend it. La Dernière Heure state that without a renewal, Anderlecht have to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free next year.
