Paolo Di Canio, West Ham icon, and repeated controversial figure in Italy, has given an interview to Turin newspaper Tuttosport and it’s mainly about the Premier League.
Di Canio became a well known name in England playing so well for West Ham, and he was asked which players have stood out for him in the Premier League season so far.
Without hesitation, Di Canio picked out Tottenham’s Dele Alli as the star man so far during the current campaign. Going on a great Tottenham goalscoring run, Dele Ali has seen his profile rise once again, and Di Canio has certainly noticed.
The former West Ham player explained, when asked for some standout Premier League performers: “It would be a very long list, but Tottenham’s Dele Ali is the symbol of the young people who are making a leap forward.
“He is a player who has the time to impose, physicality, can handle the ball, but he seems solid, and has great technical quality, vision of the game. In short, a player in an extraordinary moment.”
It’s high praise indeed from Di Canio for Dele Ali, and the Tottenham player will hope he can continue this good form and help Mauricio Pochettino’s side put up a serious title challenge again.
