West Ham United have joined the race for Basel striker Arthur Cabral, according to rclaims from Brazil.
Goal Brasil writes that the Hammers have ‘authorised intermediaries’ to ‘consult’ to find out the player’s situation at the Swiss side.
The report claims that on Friday there was an online meeting between West Ham and Arthur Cabral’s agents Paulo Pitombeira and Luiz Portela, who are currently in Brazil.
The London club are aware it will take €15m to sign the player, as he’s also protected by a release clause of €20m.
Arthur Cabral has been heavily linked to Barcelona, and Goal’s report mentions that as well. It’s claimed that agent Deco, who represents the club in South America, has been in touch with his staff and met them in Portugal last week.
The interest from the Camp Nou side is obviously taken with great excitement, as today, even the striker’s father was interviewed by the Brazilian media to talk about this approach.
Cabral joined Basel on a €6m move from Palmeiras in 2020. He has an impressive record of 24 goals and eight assists in 25 appearances for the Swiss side this season.
