West Ham United have carried out polls for Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani, according to claims coming out of Italy.
The midfielder came up through the ranks of the Italian club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in January 2021. He made 34 appearances in all competitions in the recently concluded season and his performances have not gone unnoticed.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who state that West Ham United have their eyes on the 20-year-old.
It’s said the Hammers are ‘very attentive’ to young players in the Italian league. Asllani fits the bill as the outlet states he has been ‘among the revelations’ of the 2021/22 Serie A season.
The Albania U21 international has mainly operated as a defensive midfielder but can also be used in the middle of the pitch or as an attacking midfielder. Calciomercato.it state West Ham United may need to bring in a midfielder if Declan Rice leaves this summer.
Asllani’s valuation is around €10-12m and this ‘price is affordable’ for David Moyes’ side. They, however, have to overcome competition from Inter Milan, who, as per the report, are in the ‘front row’ to secure his services.
