The Portuguese press writes so many transfer rumours that they contradict themselves sometimes, making the updates quite confusing.
For months now, we’ve been covering Rodrigo Battaglia’s links with West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United.
The info coming from the Portuguese press had been that the Baggies unsuccessfully tried to sign the player in the January window, having a €20m bid rejected, and it’s now West Ham who could be making an attempt in the summer.
But as newspaper A Bola brings an update on the player’s situation this Monday, they say the complete opposite, and still consider West Brom as possible contenders in the next transfer market.
They confirm the Baggies couldn’t sign the midfielder in the winter, but now could be making an attempt along with the likes of Roma, Inter, Napoli, Sevilla, Betis and Villarreal. Meanwhile, West Ham don’t even get a mention in the story.
A Bola’s update says that Battaglia is worth at least €30m, and that’s the starting price for Sporting to sell him in the summer.
The player holds a €60m release clause, and that’s how far clubs can go in case there’s a big auction for him in the transfer market.
