As West Ham United continue being named as one of the clubs in the race for Benfica star Darwin Nunez, it’s now Portuguese newspaper A Bola who talks about the chase.

The outlet today features a story which points out the Hammers ‘have followed’ the 22-year-old ‘more insistently’ than other competitors lately.

West Ham have been linked to Nunez since November last year, and now apparently continue to be one of the strong candidates to land him in the summer.

The striker has 26 goals scored this season, and that’s why Benfica believe they cash in with a big sale in the next transfer window, especially because they have him protected with a release clause worth €150m.

West Ham, however, won’t have an easy task to get Darwin’s signing done, as A Bola’s story names other competitors in the race for the striker.

Their article first covers claims from the English media which says Manchester United are interested in the player.

Then they add that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur want to bring him to the Premier League as well.

Moreover, Italian giants Inter and Milan are also interested in the player, meaning that with Benfica demanding at least €60m for the sale, all this competition only makes it clear the Eagles will manage to pocket a big fee with his departure.
