With only one year left on Nikola Milenkovic’s contract, Fiorentina this summer have a big reason to worry about his future at the club.

Several sides are expected to make their attempts to take the defender away from La Viola in the coming months, and outlet Fiorentina News names a few of them today.

West Ham United are said to be one of the sides expected to make an attempt to get the signing done, with the likes of Juventus and Milan also expected to join the race. The Hammers tried last summer, without success.

Fiorentina are obviously hopeful Milenkovic could stay. They’re set to offer him a new deal, and hope they can have stronger arguments in case they qualify for European competitions.

The defender’s urge to play international competitions next season seems to be a big desire of his, as a few weeks ago, Corriere Fiorentino had already written about that, also pointing out that West Ham were ‘in first place’ for his signing.

So it seems that for the whole summer scenario to be built, we’ll have to wait and see how the Hammers and Fiorentina finish in their league tables at the end of the season.
