When a young, talented forward is available for free, there’s always going to be a lot of competition, and West Ham are finding out that’s what’s happening with Jonathan Bamba.
The Hammers have been after the Saint-Etienne winger for quite some time now, and have been touted favourites to land his services numerous times, but that’s only because the other clubs named were Crystal Palace and Huddersfield.
However, that could very well change in the near future, if Corriere dello Sport’s Friday story about Inter being interested has any truth to it.
The Italian newspaper report the Serie A club are looking at bringing in a winger on a free, and it’s between Jonathan Bamba and Shakhtar’s Bernard.
Still 21 and relatively inexperienced, signing the Saint-Etienne forward would be far easier, and also a lot cheaper.
Furthermore, they seem to know that if Inter came knocking, Bamba would choose the Italians over a move to West Ham, and who can really blame him?
The Hammers are currently in an unexpected Premier League relegation battle, while Inter are fighting for a Champions League spot in Serie A.
