It’s no secret that West Ham United are in advanced talks for the signing of Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo.
At the weekend, Marcos Braz, who’s the Brazilian’s club’s vice-president, confirmed that the Hammers’ offer is currently being analysed.
Another person who spoke about the potential move is national team manager Dorival Junior. He was interviewed by the local media and has quotes featured by Itatiaia today.
“A sequence of events caught the eye, an important player. He wasn’t called up by chance, he gave a great response. He returned to the club, maintained his consistency in line with what he had been showing,” said Dorival Junior.
“A player who attracts attention because of the friendlies. His regularity is what has made teams interested in a player with the quality to make the national team.”
Fabricio Bruno had been called up by Brazil for the first time in March this year, and was a starter in the friendlies against England and Spain. That may be the reason he drew West Ham’s interest, even though he ended up out of the Copa America squad. Dorival Junior chose PSG’s Lucas Beraldo and Marquinhos, Juventus’ Bremer, Real Madrid’s Eder Militão, Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhães instead.
Reports from Brazil say West Ham’s bid for the centre-back is worth €15m.
