As covered by us earlier today, the Italian press now claims that João Mário has changed his mind regarding the West Ham transfer.

The Italian press is currently claiming so much on the potential transfer that we could dedicate the entire website to it.

After reportedly turning down the chance to make the move, the Portuguese midfielder would have a different opinion now, and even authorised his agents to meet the Hammers today.

That was all written by newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, who didn’t really have any details about the figures that West Ham would have to spend to bring the player to London.

But this afternoon, Calcio Mercato came up with a story confirming the meeting, and bringing a few details on how much Inter Milan will demand for João Mario.

According to the website, Inter currently consider the midfielder to be worth €36m. In case the Hammers get him on loan until the end of the season, then he could be bought for €28m.

There’s also the possibility of an eighteen month loan, which would drop the price to €22m, as he would join the club permanently in the summer of 2019.

Now it’s a matter of waiting for tomorrow and see what the papers took of Kia Joorabchian’s meetings with West Ham officials. For now, things look quite optimistic, as João Mario is convinced that he needs to switch clubs before the World Cup.
