Aksam claim West Ham United are interested in signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir ahead of the January transfer window.

Both the Premier League club’s sporting director Mario Husillos and goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero have given the green light to bring in the 23 year old, report the Turkish newspaper.

The Trabzonspor academy graduate has been impressing for his side this season, and he’s also been linked linked with a move to Liverpool. Last week there were reports Liverpool sent a scout to watch him in action against Galatasaray.

Manuel Pellegrini may need to sign a goalkeeper during the next window following Lukasz Fabianski’s injury. Roberto’s performances haven’t been good enough and subsequently he was replaced by David Martin last weekend at Stamford Bridge.

Aksam believe West Ham are in the market for a keeper in January and they are set for a fight with Liverpool to land the youngster.

It’s expected Trabzonspor will be looking to keep Cakir at least until next summer, but a decent West Ham offer could change things.
