West Ham rule out possibility of midfielder transfer, after deal was said to be close

In the least surprising news of the day, Palermo will not be signing West Ham midfielder Sead Haksabanovic on a four-year deal.

On Tuesday afternoon, TuttoMercatoWeb, who are currently posted outside/inside Hotel Melià in Milan where every Italian professional club’s representatives are present to manoeuvre the last 48 hours of the transfer window, claimed the Serie B side were close (making it sound as pretty much done) to signing the Montenegro international.

We found that very hard to believe considering he’d only arrived at London Stadium in the summer, and while he hadn’t played much for West Ham so far this season, he was never meant to, clearly bought for the future.

Well, on Wednesday afternoon, the very same TuttoMercatoWeb claim the deal is now off, as the Hammers have decided against letting their starlet go.

West Ham paid just under £3m for the 18-year-old last August, who has mostly featured in the Premier League2 and EFL Trophy this season.
