West Ham are one of a number of clubs interested in Walter Mazzarri, according to Correire dello Sport. In their Friday edition, the Italian newspaper talk up interest in Mazzarri, and the reason clubs are keen.
Mazzarri is seen as a ‘safe pair of hands’, according to Corriere dello Sport, someone who could come in and steady a ship if a manager were to be sacked during the season.
West Ham are mentioned because the Italian newspaper believe Slaven Bilic has them in something of a crisis.
The Croatian doesn’t seem under the most pressure he’s been under at West Ham right now, but things can change very quickly, and if that’s the case, it’s stated Mazzarri is very much an option.
The 56 year old wouldn’t be someone to thrill the fans, but that’s not always what owners are looking for, and Corriere dello Sport insist there is widespread interest.
Everton are also linked, as are German club Bayer Leverkusen, and the suggestion is that Mazzarri will get a chance sooner rather than later, and will be deserving of it.
