West Ham United are keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Füllkrug this summer.

The striker joined the Bundesliga side from Werder Bremer in August 2023, and finished his debut season with 15 goals and 10 assists from 43 matches.

Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berge claims West Ham have a concrete interest in the 31-year-old.

Julen Lopetegui’s side also have Jhon Durán on their agenda. They are finding it difficult to negotiate a deal with Aston Villa, and have identified Füllkrug as an alternative.

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten knows about the player from their time at Werder Bremen. He tried to lure him to England, likely before he moved to BVB.

Steidten could be leading the Hammers pursuit as Berger claims they have already held talks with the Germany international’s representatives, discussing personal terms.

The player finished the summer break and returned to Dortmund today for pre-season training. His deal lasts until 2026, and the German club’s desire is to retain him.

That doesn’t mean a transfer can’t take place in this window as Berger says BVB would need €25-30m to part ways with Füllkrug.

The player is also on the lists at Atlético Madrid, AC Milan and VfB Stuttgart list, but West Ham are getting serious about him.
