West Ham United’s bid for Filip Kostic is ‘slightly higher’ than the €13m that has been reported elsewhere.
That’s according to Kicker, who say the Hammers have ‘already submitted an offer’ for the winger.
We covered several reports yesterday that stated West Ham were keen on Kostic, with one from BILD stating that their first offer was worth €13m.
Kicker follow that up today and state that according to their information, West Ham are ‘serious’, and the bid is ‘even slightly higher’ than that amount.
They believe that the offer from them should be seen as a ‘strong indication’ that the player has already decided to make the move to the London Stadium.
Their point is that it would be ‘unusual’ for West Ham to make that €13m bid if there was no agreement in place with Kostic.
That clashes with reports from England, which have stated that Kostic is yet to decide on the move as he’ll have to sacrifice Champions League football next season.
Kicker accept that is something he will have to consider but add that Kostic can ‘boost his salary’ in London, so there is that to consider as a counterpoint.
As far as they’re concerned, a bid has been made, and the fact it has is an indication that the player is open to making the switch this summer.
