West Ham United have got closer to Fulham’s demands for João Palhinha as they target him to replace Declan Rice.
That’s according to A Bola, who say the Hammers want the Portuguese midfielder to replace their former star following his move to Arsenal.
They explain that the last known offer from West Ham to Fulham was €52m but this has ‘already gone up’ since the previous reports and is ‘closer to’ the demands that the latter had set for one of their star players.
This is being warmly welcomed back at Sporting Club de Portugal, who are set to pocket a tidy amount from a future sale clause they hold on the player.
They sold him to Fulham last year for €20m plus 10% of any profit in a future sale. So, subtracting €20m from the €52m offered by West Ham equals €322 and then 10% of that is €3.2m.
A nice sum for the Lions that could even get higher and help to finance transfers to bolster their own squad this summer.
Whatever figure they end up receiving is dependent on what West Ham end up paying, but A Bola insist they have now upped their original €52m bid and are closer to what Fulham consider acceptable for a transfer to happen this summer.
