Although we often criticise Tuttosport for being a little sensationalist and having too little information in their stories, we must acknowledge they have a pretty interesting piece on Andrea Belotti’s situation today.

As Torino chairman Urbano Cairo has just claimed he’s not selling the striker in the January transfer window, the newspaper comes up with some details of West Ham’s chase for the player, saying the pursuit is ‘not a joke’.

They stated this on Thursday as well, clearly wanting to make it clear West Ham’s interest is serious.

It’s claimed that the Hammers are considering to go for Belotti, and a possible departure of Marko Arnautovic would convince the club to move quicker.

The London side are being helped by an intermediary, and are already aware that Torino will not accept an offer of €40m or €45m.

The ‘reasoning’ now at West Ham is that they must present an initial offer of €60m. The salary wouldn’t be a problem, since they can raise the wages of less than €2m the player makes at Torino.

It’s said that a summer transfer is a better option both for Torino as for Belotti. The player isn’t that keen on swapping a mid-table club from Italy for a mid-table club from England. Meanwhile, the Turin side will depend on this season’s results to decide how they react in the transfer market at the end of the campaign.
