Robin Olsen enjoyed a pretty successful Euro 2020 with Sweden, before the country were knocked out of the competition by Ukraine.
Spending last season on loan at Everton from AS Roma, the goalkeeper had been left frustrated with the lack of chances he got as the campaign progressed. Quite what he expected with Jordan Pickford in front of him isn’t clear, nevertheless, Olsen has spoken during Euro 2020 about how he was proving people wrong.
Now he needs to find a new club again, with Everton not using their option to purchase him, and Roma not keen on keeping him around. That’s where West Ham could come in.
SportItalia, an Italian TV show, report, via Forza Roma that David Moyes’ side have ‘asked for information’ regarding the potential signing.
Joining West Ham with interest are Lille and Real Sociedad.
West Ham look to have a reasonable chance of success, given Olsen is said to fancy a return to the Premier League. The only downside would be the lack of guaranteed first team football.
