After the 2016 European championship, Italy international Graziano Pelle left Southampton and signed for the Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng.

The striker has impressed for his current employers, scoring 16 goals and registering nine assists in 26 appearances in the league this year.

His form in 2018 has not gone unnoticed as Italian website Tutto Mercato Web claims West Ham United and Galatasaray were considering the option of bringing him back to Europe.

It is claimed the Hammers and the Turkish club asked about the former Saints attacker’s situation with the Chinese club ‘in recent days’.

Unfortunately for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, they will not be able to secure the services of the 33-year-old as he has made a decision on his future.

The report mentions that Pelle has said ‘no’ to the Premier League outfit as he will sign a new deal with Shandong Luneng and with that, the player will end up earning €15m per year.

It is highly unlikely that either West Ham or Galatasaray would be able to pay those heft wages to Pelle.
