Most exciting is West Ham attending Sporting’s match away to Rio Ave on Sunday evening. The Hammers are on the official scouting list published by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, and they were several English clubs and others from around Europe.

The match itself was exciting with Rio Ave managing to achieve a shock 3-1 victory over Jorge Jesus’ side. It’s most likely West Ham were watching a player from Sporting, and the options are interesting.

William Carvalho has been linked to around half of Premier League clubs, and his partner in midfield Adrien Silva wanted to move to Leicester City over the summer, but the clubs couldn’t agree a fee.

As well as the Sporting match, over the weekend West Ham watched Vitória de Guimarães and Belenenses. There were no big stars on show as the match ended 1-1, 22 year old midfielder Fabio Sturgeon is sporadically linked with a transfer to England.
