On July 27th, we covered claims made by Frankfurter Rundschau that alarm bells are ringing ‘louder and louder’ at Eintracht Frankfurt after West Ham United made a proposal for Filip Kostić.
These claims are further backed up by Sky Deutschland, who detail the efforts made by the Hammers so far and also the Bundesliga side’s stance on the 29-year-old.
It’s said West Ham have ‘already submitted an offer’ of around €13m for the versatile player, who can operate as a left wing-back or on the left wing.
The offer made by David Moyes’ side has not satisfied Eintracht Frankfurt as they are demanding €20m for the Serbia international.
Oliver Glasner was neutral on the situation when speaking to Sky: “I don’t know what will happen until September 1st, but as of today I’m sure he’ll stay.”
Kostić has less than 12 months left on his deal. If Frankfurt turn down the proposal made by David Moyes’ side, the German side could risk losing him for free in 2023. Operating as a left wing-back and left winger, Kostić managed seven goals and 15 assists in all competitions last season.
Now it’s over to West Ham to place a more convincing offer.
