West Ham United’s pursuit for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca gets positive updates from CalcioMercato.it.
The report says even though the Hammers follow other strikers, the 23-year-old is ‘among the most concrete, it not the main’ target they have in this transfer window.
West Ham are said to be in a battle against Paris Saint Germain for the signing. And it turns out the London side are reportedly ‘ahead’ in the race, because as they put around €40m on the table, the French side didn’t go beyond €35m.
Now regarding Scamacca’s wish, then the Hammers may not have that much advantage. Even though he’d be a starter under David Moyes and would keep himself at the national team, the idea of a move to PSG is said to be his preference.
But the French side can’t win the race unless they raise their offer and outbid West Ham. So CalcioMercato says we need to see what happens ‘in the next few days’, because at least for now, it’s the Premier League side who seem the favourites.
