The Italian and English media disagree on what’s happening with West Ham and Pedro Obiang.
Whilst in England the latest slant is that the Hammers want to keep the player and he could even be offered a new contract, in Italy the media continues to talk up the likelihood of the Spaniard returning to former club Sampdoria.
Indeed, Calciomercato say all those involved in negotiations want a deal to happen so the small details at the end of the talks should be easy to overcome.
A compromise has reportedly been reached after West Ham initially asked for €12m and Sampdoria offered €9m, the clubs are thought to have met somewhere in the middle, with the player pushing for agreement.
West Ham and Samp have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ and now the details are being sorted out, as per the Italians claims.
Those details include the payment of transfer fee and instalments, and the percentage the Hammers would be entitled to from a future sale.
It’s even stated ‘white smoke’ could arrive this weekend. That’s an Italian reference to when it’s announced a new Pope has been chosen, and means the completion of a deal.
