West Ham United are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Boca Juniors goalkeeper Agustin Rossi.
The information comes from Brazilian outlet Torcedores, who today feature a long story about the competition to sign the 27-year-old this summer.
The story is mostly focused on the chase from the City Football Group, owners of Manchester City, who reportedly made a formal offer for the goalkeeper. It’s said they’re bidding US$3m, letting Boca Juniors keep 30% of a future transfer.
The Argentine club had been demanding US$10m for the sale, so now they’ll analyse the numbers on the table. It’s said the City Football Group’s idea is to put Rossi at Spanish side Girona.
Torcedores’s main reason to go after this story is the interest from Flamengo, claiming they’ve been in touch for the signing. And at the end of the piece, they point out that West Ham are another club who are keen on the goalkeeper.
With the City Football Group not making a very attractive bid, Flamengo believe the competition isn’t over, and remain hopeful of getting the transfer done.
Regarding West Ham’s chase, Torcedores doesn’t bring many details, only pointing out that there are few days until the European summer window is closed. The Hammers have been using both Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola this season, so it’s quite unexpected to see them linked to an Argentine goalkeeper of this age.
