On July 17th, Marca reported Allan Nyom’s exit from West Bromwich Albion is imminent as Getafe are set to sign him on a loan deal with an option to buy.

This didn’t make sense as the Cameroon international has a year left on his deal with the Championship side and will be a free agent next summer.

Another Spanish newspaper AS claims Nyom’s departure from The Hawthorns has seen the Baggies look for a replacement in the transfer market.

It’s claimed that Iván Balliu has emerged as a target and the 27-year-old has become ‘one of the objectives’ of the English club to replace Nyom.

Metz released the Albanian at the end of the season and he’s available on a free transfer.

It’s claimed West Brom want Balliu as a substitute for Nyom and the former could accept their offer soon, which will then allow the player to fulfil his dream of playing in England.

Real Valladolid, Leganés and Espanyol are also interested in Balliu.
