West Brom transfer talked about in Italy as Baggies prepare for life in Championship

Unfortunately, despite a late battle, West Bromwich Albion’s relegation to the Championship is now confirmed.

A few of the Baggies players are likely to leave and the list could include the likes of Nacer Chadli, Jay Rodriguez, Craig Dawson, Kieran Gibbs, Gareth Barry and Salomon Rondon.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the South American number nine will be looking for a move away from the Hawthorns.

Rondon’s contract at West Brom will run down after the end of the next season. He scored seven goals in the Premier League and for a club that has managed only six wins in the league, his goalscoring rate isn’t so bad.

Calciomercato claims aren’t surprising as the player of his calibre wouldn’t relish playing in the Championship. What’s more interesting is the report doesn’t mention any clubs interested in signing the striker. Coming from an Italian publication talking about the Venezuelan striker playing in the Premier League is something that does not connect the dots so far.

Meanwhile, SFR Sport reported in April that West Ham United could be interested in signing Rondon this summer.
