If you’d asked Tony Pulis what he would give to be seventh in the Premier League after 16 games and only four points behind Manchester United before facing José Mourinho at the Hawthorns, he’d probably have said an arm and a leg.

A mixture of both West Brom overachieving and the Red Devils underachieving, the situation ahead of Saturday’s clash means there is an extra incentive for the Baggies, with a win well within their reach.

With both teams picking up three points in their last game, the game promises to be an interesting one, and Salomon Rondon, who scored a hat trick of headers against Swansea midweek, is ready to do the same against David De Gea.

Asked by Mundo Deportivo in an interview on Friday if there was added motivation with United struggling for form in the league, the player said: “We’re going to play like we always do to achieve another win that will reinforce our aspirations.”

Explaining that West Brom will treat United like any other team, the advantage of playing at the Hawthorns could help them achieve ‘great things’.

Such is the belief Rondon and the Baggies can pick up the result, the player even admitted that a draw might not be enough.

He said: “If we were to draw against United, it would leave a bittersweet taste in our mouths because, in the end, we would be losing two points at home.”

José Mourinho, you’ve been warned.
