Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto has told the Italian media he wants to play abroad in the near future. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks with West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City both keen on the player.

Speaking to TMW, Jankto was asked about his future and whether he expected to stay in Serie A. The Czech international said he doesn’t want to stay in Italy for too long because he wants to play in other leagues around Europe. The youngster went on to say he believes he needs to experience another league during his career.

“I want to play abroad, to try some new experience. I’m curious, I want to know other things. I certainly do not see myself in Italy too long, certainly not up to 25 years,” said the Czech youngster.

Earlier this month we covered claims from Italy that West Brom and Stoke City had joined the race to sign Jankto. It was reported the two Premier League sides will travel to Italy to get a lowdown on the Czech U21 international before making a possible move for him in the summer.

Mark Hughes and Tony Pulis will be looking to strengthen their squads in the next window, and Jankto may bring something to both clubs. It’s likely West Brom and Stoke City will face competition to sign the youngster, with other Premier League sides also showing an interest.

Given Jankto’s wish to try another league, he could be on his way to England soon.
