Rodrigo Battaglia’s situation continues to be complicated, prompting disagreement in the Portuguese media about whether he’s available for transfer or not.

A Bola had claimed West Brom recently made a €15m offer for the midfielder, and were immediately knocked back by his club Sporting. The asking price was then put at €25m, and things went quiet, with the assumption West Brom wouldn’t be interested at such a price.

It was then reported that a compromise agreement could be found at around €20m, which sounded like Sporting fishing for West Brom to return with their interest and make another attempt to sign the player.

Another Portuguese newspaper have it very differently indeed.

Record report that Sporting don’t want to sell Battaglia, despite adding midfield strength to their squad already this window.

Record say Sporting are concentrating on winning the title and therefore don’t want to sell players.

It could very easily be another play to try and get more money out of West Brom.
