West Bromwich Albion are interested in the services of Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko, reports L’Equipe on Wednesday.
L’Equipe say West Bromwich were in advanced negotiations yesterday with Newcastle and Sissoko’s representatives, but face competition from Everton and Tottenham.
However, there are no guarantees of Sissoko leaving Newcastle yet, and L’Equipe explain there has to be significant progress for any deal to go through.
Newcastle have set an asking price of €40m for Sissoko, and any possible deal looks a bit complicated for West Bromwich. The Frenchman delivered a few impressive performances at the Euros, and has been waiting for the likes of Real Madrid to approach him, but that sadly never happened.
Sissoko has until tonight to force a move away from the Championship club, and make a return to the Premier League.
